Irishdoodle

Irishdoodle

Irishdoodles are known for their friendly and affectionate nature. Their higher intelligence makes Irishdoodles easy to train and excel in obedience training, agility, and other dog sports, making them great companions for families who enjoy outdoor activities. Irishdoodles are known for their loyalty and protective nature, making them wonderful watchdogs. The Irishdoodle’s unique appearance, with its expressive eyes and beautiful red coats, makes it hard to not fall in love at first sight! They are leaner, leggier dogs with a graceful gate as both parents are slender.

History of the
Irishdoodle

The Irishdoodle is a relatively new designer dog breed, created by crossing an Irish Setter with a Poodle, initially developed in the United States in the early 21st century.

The Irish Setter has a long and distinguished history as a hunting dog in Ireland. First developed in the 18th century as a sporting dog, with the ability to track game and retrieve birds both on land and in water.
The Poodle has a long and fascinating history as a working dog in Europe. Originally bred as a water retriever in Germany, the Poodle was soon recognized for its intelligence and trainability which led to the breed becoming a popular choice for circuses and traveling shows in France and England.

By crossing these two breeds we have the Irishdoodle, a breed well known for the intelligence and trainability of the Poodle, and the friendly and outgoing nature of the Irish Setter.

What makes
Irishdoodles
Unique

Irishdoodles inherit a mix of genes from each of their parents that give them their unique and fun personalities.

This breed is very active, fun, and intelligent. However, they can also be very affectionate and love spending time with the people they care about.

The trainability and versatility of these breeds leads them to have a strong desire to please their owners as well as a willingness to learn new skills.

Living with an
Irishdoodle

Irishdoodles make great family pets thanks to their friendly, playful, and loving personalities. These doodles thrive on human interaction and are wholly devoted to their owners.

Their sociability makes them a joy to be around people and other animals. Irishdoodles are a perfect companion for those looking for a devoted bunning companion, as well as a therapy dog (setters have been used for this purpose for years).

Their active nature and love of play make them a great mate for anyone with an active lifestyle, but their ability to curl up and relax with their family after some exercise makes them even more lovable! The hypoallergenic, low-shedding coat leads them to be an ideal fit for anyone who suffers from allergies but is looking for a furry companion!

*Important*

The poodle lightens over time, but it is impossible to say which way any given pup will go. We do not want anyone to be disappointed or to feel deceived, so we want to make sure you are aware of this tendency before purchasing. In the face of this happening frequently to our pups as they age, they remain the most popular of our breeds as they are very winsome and have personalities that make it all worthwhile 😉
